Open for Applications
Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky have launched a joint initiative to help prepare underrepresented students for success in Ph.D. degree programs and for careers in biomedical sciences. The Kentucky Bridge to a Biomedical Doctorate for Appalachian (and other underrepresented) Students is supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health, which has recognized that Appalachian, African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Native Alaskan, Pacific Islander, disabled and low income students are underrepresented in the biomedical sciences field. While this grant is targeted towards students from Appalachia, students from other underrepresented populations will be considered. Students will be admitted only in the Fall semester. We will begin reviewing student applications for Fall semester on April 1st, and offers will be issued beginning May 1st. Early applications are highly recommended. Applications received after May 1st may be accepted if positions are available.
